The renovation of the Chemistry Building under the ADB V (five)-HEST project is on track. The Principal of CoNAS, Prof. J.Y.T. Mugisha visited the worksite on Monday, 13th June 2016. He was shown the works by staff of Excel Construction, the company contracted to renovate the buildings and laboratories. The College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS) is a beneficiary of the ADB funding where the Chemistry Building and Laboratories are under renovation alongside a centralized Diagnostics Laboratory in the Department of Plant Sciences, Microbiology and Biotechnology.
Makerere University was allocated a total of US$29.2m from a loan by the African Development Bank to the Government of Uganda to improve science and technology in Higher Education Institutions. CoNAS and Makerere University envisage improved research and teaching after the refurbishments.
