Study In Uganda Students Travel Requirements

Travel requirements to Uganda

     Students planning to travel for studies in Uganda MUST have the following

  1. A valid Passport document
  2. An admission letter
  3. Invitation letter from the host institution or company
  4. Insurance policy
  5. Proof of accommodation
  6. Proof of financial support to sustain your stay in Uganda
  7. Valid Yellow Fever Immunisation card
  8. Visa (see section 2 below for details)

Visas

  1. Any students entering Uganda should have a visa (some countries are exempted and students are advised to see details of exemptions at the following web-link https://www.immigration.go.ug/content/visas-and-passes)
  2. The visas are obtained at Uganda missions abroad or on arrival at the ports of entry in the country upon payment of the visa & corresponding fees summarized in table below. However, the costs may change from time to time, please check with Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration at https://www.immigration.go.ug for any updates
  3. For students; the following payments must be made:
  1. Single entry (payable at the Airport) = US$ 50 – valid for 1 month
  2. Students visa (payable within 3 months after entry) = US$100 – valid for one year only
