The College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS). CoNAS is one of the now 9 Colleges established under the collegiate system at Makerere University. The College teaches basic sciences namely: biochemistry, botany, chemistry, geology and petroleum studies, mathematics, physics, zoology and sports science. The College services students from other colleges thereby providing foundations for the applied sciences offered throughout the University.

Vice President for Research at Bar Ilan University, Israel Visits CoNAS
Prof. Benjamin Ehrenberg from Bar Ilan University in Israel visited the College of Natural Sciences (CoNAS) Makerere University on the 4th of April 2013. This was part of a 2day visit to Makerere University. Prof. Ehrenberg is the Vice President for Research at the Bar Ilan University. He is a physicist attached to the department of Physics and the Institute of Nano Technology and Advanced Materials at the same university.

BBC Africa Science Festival : Scientists Visit CoNAS
The 5th day of the BBC festival (28th-March-2013) began with a visit to the College of Natural Sciences by visiting scientists (Prof. Tejinder Verdee and Dr. Ashitey Trebi-Ollenu) and staff of BBC; Julian Siddle (Producer).They met with Prof. J.Y.T. Mugisha, the Principal of CoNAS.

On Monday 25th March 2013, as part of the BBC Africa Science Festival, a discussion was held about how science is perceived in Africa during the ‘World Have your Say’ programme on BBC.

A Career Talk by Mr. Ramesh Vala
The College of Engineering Design Art and Technology (CEDAT) will on Tuesday 19th March 2013 at 14:00-16:00 host Mr Ramesh Vala OBE, and representatives from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) for a Career Talk. The purpose of the career talk is to have speakers from varied organisations and industries come and give a short presentation to our participants regarding their work life and hopefully impart some advice.

Seminar on Diet and Liver Disease
The College of Natural Sciences will on monday 14th January 2013 host Maggie Strable, a PhD candidate from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, who wil make a brief a presentation.
63rd Graduation Ceremony
Makerere University 63rd Graduation Ceremony will be held for four days, from Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th January 2013. The Graduands,distinguished guests and the entire congregation shall be seated by 8:30am.
